in another post i put up a picture of my 90 and asked if anyone recognised the wheels, a few guys commented and said they are ealry disco wheels.

my question is , why put disco wheels on a defender ? is it to mount bigger wider tyres ?

i'm not complaining guys just curious ?

I think the main advantage is their strength, i think they are made of pretty thick steel!

They are also 7" wide rather than the standard defender items which are 5.5".
 
They are Tubless,
They are 7 inches wide, opposed to 5.5 or 6 6.5,
The offset isnt that much Good or Bad,
They are cheap,
Thay are steel and way better than alloys when offroading can be beaten back into shape if you need to be to keep you going,

Lol I was being polite, lol But there is somthing about a 90 on 205's looks standard nice and un molested innocent. before the dirty likes of us get our hands on em!

I put some 205 tyres on for my mot cos I had a couple of punctures on my 900's and the gearing was great the noise was spot on the landy felt worringly car like! and that was in the snow!

but i can mount some BFGoodrich mud-terrains then ? like these ones ?

i know you can't polish a turd but i can at least put some decent tyres on it !
