Hi all new to the forum but need your help
Just bought a freelander 1 and it appears to have some bits missing and i have no idea what??
To the rear of the engine there are two coolant pipes blanked with bolts in the hose ..should there be another rad or something?
Also to the rear right of the engine bay there is a bracket not sure if this was just an accesorie that the previous owner added and didnt remove its bracket or not
Hope you can help cheers

Jon

Good news re the jack
Why would the ird be removed and can i live without it
Cheers for your help

you car will still have an IRD

lay under the car from the drivers side and check your IRD those pipes look like the pipes on mine when i changed my box i have read somewhere that the pipes conneted is not really needed but i would make sure it is them to be 100% sure

Better get under it and have a look then it wasnt an auction buy it was private seller needs some cleaning up but all round good nick i hope
As long as i can get the locking wheel nuts off time to find a freindly kwik fit fitter

you should list on your settings where your located as maybe fellow Landy owners would be willing to help

depending on what lock nuts you have fitted but some are easy as pie to get off without the key but im more on about ford ones lol

Settings updated need to go to the scrapies to source a new wing mirror so will have a good nosey while there may have to wait til the weekend as the sun is out here in scotland and we have to make the most of this rare occurance

your better off being under a car in the sun.. when i had to changed my IRD for a 2nd hand one i had wind rain hail and snow and was praying for a little bit of sun lol

Does this mean that it may have a tendancy to overheat after a while?

heat exchanger on the ird will only be necessary on longer journeys ie a couple of hours down the motorway ,gear oil can get quite hot and ird isnt really in any cool air flow

yup, jack goes under the bonnet in a zipped bag, if you ain't got the key for locking wheel nuts, hammer and old chisel does the trick, well it did mine
