Black canister under the bonnet behind the jack? mines started to click when i get to 2000 rpm, any ideas.

Its part of the emissions system - carbon purge valve.

Could be something faulty about the valve. if it drives well leave it alone

Its not necessary, Lotus boys have bypassed it, but not entirely sure what is involved. They simply took it out to reduce weight in the Elise

Cheers for that not causing any trouble just annoying.

Seems the head gasket is popular at the mo

How much to have the headgasket done ? only costs £14 quid on my escort and a couple of hours with the spanners.
