My son in law has left this with me, it's an A Bar with a winch tray on it. It looks as if it goes over the top of a standard bumper and maybe fits onto the chassis along with the bumper but with longer bolts. Any ideas anyone?

sorry, I was hoping someone would know exactly what I meant without me having to drag it out of the garage! Here they are -

Is it for a disco or defender?

If it's a bikini mount with built in A bar.

I am pretty sure it's for a defender, he has never had a disco, can't ask him as he is away at the moment, he won't be back for a few months.

Ratty you are a star, I'm sure that is what it is, t'will shortly be appearing in another section, thank you :D

i had one of these fitted on me red disco there **** for approch angles used to hit every little hill with it

but for that should it not go all the way across, or am I missing something here?

I think you would still keep your original bumper, like most A-bars it just bolts on top of it. Not the greatest idea if you ask me, I can't see it being hugely strong.

It looks odd to fit a Defender, usually the bars bolt on top of the front bumper with 4 long bolts ( using the bumper bolts already there ), but as it has a winch tray on it, not sure if it's supposed to sit underneath the standard bumper....but then that wont work, so possibly in front of the main bumper but not sure where them two brackets at the bottom are supposed to bolt too.

It's a disco one. defender bolts thru top of chassis rails. But i'm not sure I'd trust it to wiinch me out of anything. The whole thing looks like it could fall apart at any minute, and that's before you mount a winch to it.
