chain filter wrench with a 1/2" drive, easy peasey. Good tip with the bag though for the last bit. I usually put a basin underneath and just let the filter and oil fall into it - put an old towel under the basin to catch the splashes.
Good question, works on all the other engines, haven't tried a TD5 - did they put the oil filter somewhere stupid?With a TD5 engine??

I see photos on 'tinterweb of people using a chain wrench on it - not much room, but possible.
