With the vast amount of people still having the little yellow lights staying on, I just thought a "what happened with yours" might help - all in one place.

First experience, mine had 1 amigo staying on constantly - the HDC! one.

I searched and asked the questions and I was told to check the throttle cable had plenty of slack, the throttle position sensor could be faulty or the first gear switch could be faulty. I checked and changed all of the above but the light still stayed on - I went to three garages to do a code read but all three said there were no codes showing ...but the third chap did a code reset anyway and bingo the the light went out.

Next experience I had all three TC ABS HDC!

These came on all of a sudden while driving home one day - I remembered that I had knocked my NSF wheel against our front door step a couple of days earlier and wondered if that had anything to do with it.
I gave the NSF abs sensor a gentle tap with the hammer - you can just get to it with the wheel still on - the amigos then changed sequence.
On start up all three would be on, then after a couple of seconds the HDC! light would go out then when I reached about 10mph the other two lights would go out.
This carried on every time I started the car until I finally had the codes reset again :)

I have learned to get the codes read before spending money on parts that you might not need ;)

This is a good idea for a thread - we will all dip into almost without fail! My 3 amigos initial fault was no amigos at all. I sorted that by just replacing the bulbs - which were black and burned probably because they had been on all the time for many months (or even years). Needless to say I now have 3 amigos on all the time and am saving up for a Hawkeye before spending any money. I have to say I have learned to live with them on but it would be nice one day to have all the features working as they should.

Usually my 3 amigos show up to say "hola" on foggy days or when there's moisture in the air. Been like this for about 3 years now.

When I bought it, I had zero amigos, also no handbrake warning light, no working speedo and no engine management light. Previous caveman owner has chiselled the LEDs off the circuitboard rather than fix the faults. I got a used instrument cluster and it lit up like an xmas tree which turned out to be a dead ABS ECU, which I swapped for a second hand one. The engine management light went out when re-set by a garage.

In the following years I have had very little problems - I had intermittent ABS light coming on accompanied with the pedal pulsing for the last second just before the car came to a stop when braking. This turned out to be a split pickup ring on the rear right driveshaft, diagnosed from looking through old threads here. Rust had expanded and cracked the ring. I got a generic one from ebay which just pressed on once the shaft was removed from the hub.

A year or two later I had all three back which turned out to be a failed front right ABS sensor - I found this by myself when I checked all the sensors for resistance. three were the same and one was very different. Was a bastard to get out, I ended up burning it out with the oxy acetelyne and fitted a cheapo ebay one and its been fine ever since.

I had I amigo which turned out to be a abs sensor .and after that I had all three on and that was down to me accidently pulling the wires of the gravity sensor which sits aside of the hand break on my last one a 2001 td4 and is on this one a td4 2006

After working on the car on Saturday we got the HDC light on. Couldn't understand why until I saw this thread tonight. My son had seen the throttle cable was loose and tightened it. Doh! took a couple of minutes to loosen it again and no light. :)

If the abs sensors are your problem then have a look here to give you an idea

Welcome by the way - when your sorted post back on here to let us know how you got the lights off ;)

I had 2 Amigos - TC and HDC. When I braked there were no brake lights unless I took my foot off the pedal and applied them again, at which point the amigos went out and brake light came on. Change the brake light switch and all is now good.

Tip for when fitting. Push the brake pedal down then push switch into locating bracket. Easy Peasy.

Ordered the wrong one though - XKB500120 - so if anyone wants one let me know.

HI ALL
AS I SAID IN MY FIRST POST I HAD ALL THREE AMIGOS
just replaced the rear left ABS/SPEED censor (45 mins to get out,,take it slowly and lots of WD) AND DROVE DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL THREE BAD BOYS WENT OUT:D
£85 all in, 1 hour at a landy dealer to get codes £45, then £40 for the censor
