Hi

Just bought a 97 300TDI 90 hard top and it's got BFG MTs on. As she'll be used everyday on the road....not the best tyre. I don't like the look of road tyres on a Defender...not chunky enough so am looking at all terrain tyres as a compromise. I'm new to 4x4 ownership so am unsure which is the best make/model to go with for road holding and durability - any ideas please?

Thanks

  • General Grabber AT2's
  • Cooper ST's
Just been through the choice myself - and based on mileage potential, on/off road capabilities and looks the BFG AT's won. At £100 a corner they're not cheap. The Grabbers are worth a look - and about £20 a corner less if that's a priority.

I still have the mud terrains on a spare set of rims for when I need them.

Thanks Widget - appreciated.

I'm going to take a closer look at the BFGs and Grabbers - kinda like what I've seen of the BFGs..we'll see. Any one else got any other ideas please?

As for the MTs - once I've got the new tyres on I'll let you know about whether I'll be selling them or not. Probably will to be fair - I'll keep you posted.

Cheers guys
