Might be buying a seven seater that's still on air springs, but it doesn't have a towbar fitted.

Had a look on Paddocks etc and they recommend a sliding plate type, but it looks bloody enormous! My old five seater just had a fixed height one that I'm sure was factory or dealer fitted, it might have had another set of holes to move the ball hitch up a bit but that was it. Some 7 seaters I've seen have a fixed towbar, others sliding plate type - is there a 'right' one?

I realise the air spring version is self levelling, but why would the towbar for it be bigger than a coil sprung version?

mine was quite low to the ground so I took it off ... i'm thinking about getting a different towbar but I don't know what to get either

Yeah, looks very 'deep' doesn't it? I'm not doing serious off-roading with the car, so it won't be a problem there, I just think it looks over the top for what I need!
SF, I'd need the whole kit, rather than just the ball hitch. There's plenty out there, it's just that Paddocks seemed to imply on their webpage that this THE one for air sprung cars and I just wondered why. Oh well, I'll worry about it when it happens....

I'm would also wondering why they have that statement, but I cant see it.
Anyway its a fixed adjustment, so positioned as required on installation.

You HAVE to get the one recommended for a Disco2 or the insurance is void.
If you're rear ended an incorrect one could go through the fuel tank and torch the car!

I have one of these in stock, taken off a DII that had a v8 with slipped liners. Its a genuine LR set, complete with single LR electrics. £50 if you want it. I think it was only used twice before the engine failed.

Thanks for the offer, which towbar is it?

if you have the same towbar as the ebay link, that is the towbar I have got already.

I think that they took into account that with air suspension the ground clearance can be improved by selecting off-road mode which will lift the rear a bit also it has the automatic extended mode so it will lift by itself is it hooks the ground

Its blinkin heavy, so I don't know how is the best way to get it to you. You can do bank transfer, cash,Paypal - whichever really. Do you have/use a courier ?
