Where did they get a 3.5 tonne caravan? Power is not a lot less than a P38 so I would expect a similar towing performance and my P38 tows my Hobby van just fine.

its the 2.5 tonne of stolen cables in the pikey van thats weighing it down

you actually wasted several minutes of your life reading the opinions of caravanners?

because its a webpage devoted to towing caravans so i made a somewhat educated guess?

I wonder what they do recommend for a caravan of this weight? At a towing limit of 85% it would have to weigh over 4 tons!

Scania, maybe?

Well, in some ways it is fair comment, because as we know, the performance is quite leisurely in Defenders. I haven't timed mine with a test weight on, but I'd say the timings probably aren't far off. But then if you want instant throttle response you probably wouldn't be in a Defender

Maybe so,but what car's going to get a good report towing 3500kg?

I think it is a calculated review based on mis-information - it says the tow bar limit is 100kg... really... so it couldn't even pull a fat man?

That's trailer nose weight on the tow bar not the weight of the trailer:rolleyes:

100kg! pah, my suburban - sadly only a 5.7 - has a maximum tongue weight of 250 kg weight carrying and a lot more weight distributing :D
