D dwabbit New Member Jan 11, 2014 #1 Just swapped out my steering box Just wondering what to do with it. As i got a used replacement. Its just sitting on bench leaking. Do some companies take them to refurb. Dont want to bin it. If it can be brought back to life

dieseldog69 Well-Known Member LZIR Despatch Agent Jan 11, 2014 #5 Depends on what is wrong with it, but you can re-seal it yourself, fill it up with PAS fluid and pop the bungs in and save it for a rainy day. I did mine not so long ago and it cost me 45 all in for a new seal kit and a speedi-sleeve. Much better than the 550 they wanted for a new one

dieseldog69 Well-Known Member LZIR Despatch Agent Jan 11, 2014 #7 probably needs adjusted and sorting, not in the UK or would have taken a look. You could open it up and take a peek to see how bad the land is on the shaft.
