I already did that, but with the injectors out, put some WD40 down the bores and tried to spin it. It must have been jammed, so I backed it off by hand with a spanner on the front pulley, and turned it til it hit the same obstruction going the other way. Something big is bent, broke or both.

Valve stuck down by the sound of it take rocker cover off. and have a lookee

Please excuse my Interruption but would it not be better to post some photo's of it then maybe you might get an offer that is more suitable..Just a thought..(first one this year)...Tony

i picked up my p reg 300tdi for a £1000 off another member, 3 months before that i had fitted a new engine in it for him. The engine was £150, still running great now, only downside with it is that it has couple of oil leaks. I also had to put a new engine in my last 300tdi. First engine i got was a dog, cracked head, but was taken back by the firm that sold it to me. Most breakers will offer you atleast 3 months warranty on an engine. If its as good as you say it is then replace the engine. Hows to say that the next disco you get isn't going to have all the problems all over again. Better the devil you know. I guess thou its your landy and your choice

Thanks for all the responses. I was looking around last night for another Disco. Found a couple near me, that will probably be ok for me move all the extras onto. I figured it would probably easier, and also not much different financially to do that, by the time I source and collect an engine, and do any work it needs.

I will move mine on, minus the winch/bumper, wheels/tyres, lift kit, and a few other parts. It will have wheels and stuff on it, just all standard. I wont be quite ready to do this yet, as I will need to strip mine, and get another Disco to donate the bits.

Thanks for the input, and as soon as I am ready to rock, I will post, and PM anyone that is genuinely interested.

i sold 2 winch bumpers £20 each

Un I has one of em on me disco.. :D

So rather than putting the engine out of another disco into your perfect rot free one your gonna shift yer add ons onto what maybe a pile of rust held together with spit and hope?:confused::confused: Take less time and effort to swap an engine than swap yer bits and you'll still have a standard disco with no engine to sell or scrap.

I call 'trying it on to flog yer **** for way more than what it's worth'- highly unlikely on here unless you find someone more stupid than yerself.

So he's prepared to spend time swapping bits over but to wound up to fit an engine!
