Hi all I have 2000 LR D2 Td5 and I´m chanching my 1063 Lr S2a for a RRc, then I have two options:

1. 1988, V8 auto, with 110000 milles, green imported from US.
2. 1993, V8 auto, same millage, blue UK strs.

I have read the technical data, but what is your advice. I fell the 1988 in more classic.

Thanks

Ok, thanks. the next qustion might be another topic, but I´d like to know how could I improve the 3.5 or 3.9 engine. better engine is less gas

Are you in the uk?

Either, depending on the condition and how much you reckon you will have to spend. 88-92 are very similar..after that you get all sorts of electrical stuff, air stuff, things that go "ting". The 88 model year sounds good but you know the routine...check sills, boot arches, body mounts...worry about the V8 later.

Not sure what US states have a better enviroment (for the structure) than the UK but pre-89 (Disco intro.) bodyshells tend to attract less corrosion that later years, so that's a tick for the '88. The 3.9 (or any 94mm bore) RV8 can slip liners so that's another tick for the 3.5. The larger bore engine, introduced in Oct '89, also started the trend for more complex electrics.
