Was reading on another thread about condensation on the windows and possible sources for the moisture.
One source was listed as the tool pit in the boot.
So quick as a flash I ran outside to see if the carpets in my tool pit were damp.
Actually thats a lie. I forgot about it till I was waiting in ASDA's car park for she who must be obeyed.
So upon looking I found a wee hole in the carpet. More of a slit than a wee hole. Anyway, ignoring a mantra that I have used all my life to never put my fingers anywhere I wouldnt put my manhood, I had a good root around in there.
Good news is and I know you have been worried about this, the carpets are dry.
But I did find an odd electrical connector in that mysterious slit/hole thing.
Any ideas what the hell its for?
Here are some pictures.

cd multichanger was under the passenger seat (occasionally under the drivers seat) BUT on the higher specced model, a sub woofer was mounted in the boot space, think that might be it.

Eye rape

Dont show pic's of a Gaylander unless in your own section !!!

Oh ok mate sorry. Thought the site was for all Landrover owners.

I might also add that as an ex soldier I have had a 1 ton Landrover (which was a bitch for backfiring and had a crash gearbox), 3 series, 90's, 110's, Bedford RL's , Bedford MK's and for 2 years a 432 APC all of which were FFR's, SCRATS or RR.
Now I bought a Freelander because I have a young family but I cant afford a reasonable mileage Range Rover and because I transport the better half and kids and not pigs, I dont want a Defender.

I think yu bit there. Yu need to take the anti Hippoo comments with a pinch of salt if yu is gonna survive for long. It's sortof a tradition. A bit like the doors falling orf when they get wet....... Or red defenders dont go up hills..... Or that Discos rust.....

CRASH g/box on a 1 tonne ha ha dream on landrover had constant mesh eccept first and reverse since day one cheers from an ex REME fitter (old school)

i believe the 1 tonne was basically a range rover in a uniform so no crash box and yes they had synchro 3 4 on series landys
