here ya live?
there should be a 10degC drop between ambient and the vent temperature.

If ya bring it to me, I will test it FOC.

My disco is still running on the original a/c gas and is now 10 deg from the dash vents at any time.
It use to be 7 or 8 deg once, any colder than that and frost/ice will start to form like the inside of a fridge, we don't want that thawing inside the dash do we. :)

I was recently looking at buying home re gassing kits for both my Landy and my VW but am unsure as to what the procedure is, All I know is you seem to have a cannister with some kind of refridgerant in it connected to some type of pressure meter? Do you just connect it to the A/C valve under the bonnet and then just add the required amount? And if so how much is the required amount?

a/c is good for all seasons, you don't have the temp control on cold it helps out with demisting.

Checked mine the other day and my TDi300 puts out between 2 degrees C and 4 degrees C when outside ambient was 20 degrees C

You can feel the pipes on the air con compressor, the high pressure side should get very hot and the low pressure pipe cold (but not necessarily freezing) and the clutch should cycle between engaging/disengaging.

If you have taken the viscous fan off, then you are relying on the twin electrics to cool the air con condenser radiator, that may make a difference as they don't flow anywhere near the same amount of air through the radiators compared to the standard fan.

Also worth bearing in mind it's quite a large cabin space too cool.

Cheers
