I am in need of a new steering wheel for my Defender 110 2002, at the moment when it get damp all the muck and grime, bits of leather come off on my hands, So I'm looking to replace the steering wheel at the landy show this month.

So what steering wheel? do I keep it standard or fit aftermarket? what suggestion on type/make?

I've got a wood rimmed one, second hand off eBay , only a 13" one but no issues with the steering effort and more room in the cab.

What @Flossie says, aftermarket. I haven't got one, can't afford a decent one, but when I do it's either Alcantara or wood, and smaller than standard .. now we have power steering there's no need for a 15" wheel .. :)

No idea but someone will or may know. Being as the wheel needs to come off anyway just remove it and count them to be safe.
They can be difficult to remove but keep the nut on a few threads whilst palming it free or it'll come off suddenly and smack you in the face possibly. You can count the splines by just removing the nut if you want.
