Been a while since I been on here. My land rover sits lower on the back than the front been like it since I purchased it, I have a 4" lift using springs and shocks, the front have a navy blue set of springs apparently they are heavy duty which look right but the rear has +2 springs not sure if heavy duty but its sitting lower and the rear springs are a completely different shade of blue and at the top of the spring its compressed far more than the front ie top of spring has about 4 layers pushed together were as the front have a even space top to bottom. My question is how do I tell what springs I need on the rear to make it sit level properly. Any help/advice will be much appreciated. Thanks guys

How much lower is the back ?

If your rear springs are ok why not fit spacers under the rear spring seats so she sits level ?

HD springs only really do their job properly when the rear is fully loaded. Spacers are cheap enough on ebay and in various thicknesses.

I already have spacers. I have +2 springs hd front and just +2" rear and 2" spacers all round with dislocation cones attatched to the spacers. Il try and upload a couple of pics later today of the angle and the springs themselves.

I know that the D2 is supposed to sit a little lower at the back than the front, I assume the D1 is similar.

Not by this much lol. You can stand back and look at it and it looks like its loaded up but there actualy nothing in there at all. Need to find out what springs I need. I kmow on the front he put +2" hd rear springs and on the rear they are so called just +2" but the springs on the rear dont actualy look very good as the top of the coil has compressed about 3-4 coils fully?

They sound like progressive springs with tighter coils at one end.

I looked at progressive springs and I think they them. So if they are any good? How can I raise the back slightly to level out?

I think they are more for performance cars, they are supposed to offer a softer ride under normal conditions but the harder you push them the harder they work. Never used them so I don't know if it's true.

Have a look on ebay at "coil spring assistors", they may stop some of the compression under the weight of the car so it sits a bit higher.

To be honest though if you need to remove the springs to fit them (not sure if you do) then and a pair of +2" HD springs won't cost too much more. If you can find out the brand he put on the front you could match on the rear.

Your problem is the fronts being HD and the rears not.

I had HD all round and it sat straight and level, but effectively 'lifted' by 40mm or so due to less sag. I'd guess the HD aren't sagging but the rears are, hence the rear being low, so get some rear HD's ... or normal +2's for the front ..

The colours on the shocks don't matter, they could be painted or coated differently from stock, so it's a guess whose you have.
