Hi all,

Now this may sound like a stupid question, but I phoned my insurance today to transfer from my old disco to my new td5 and upon giving them my Reg they asked what spec it is out of these below.....
E
MM
ES
Adventurer
XS
GS
S

Now I haven't a clue what mine is. Mine is a W Reg automatic with leather interior heated seats electric mirrors and seats etc.......can anyone advice please?

Best regards
Kyle

Hey,

Yeah this is what I thought. I was under the understanding it was just a td5 disco but obviously the insurance company needs more info for some reason and the details they want sadly are not on the v5

OK,

Mine shows it on the V5, where I put the Question marks on the above reply.................

Cheers

Ok, etc = what? in the specification list you started, nevertheless it looks like it could be the ES and top of the range for early D2s

Done it in#5.
Find another D2 of that year with electric leather seats... I believe you haven't been a Disco owner for very long, but don't u know you disco's?

If you mean that I haven't spent as much time under mine as you have under yours, then that's because I knew that what I was buying was a good one in the first place.
Frankly, your message #5, "Ok, etc = what? in the specification list you started, nevertheless it looks like it could be the ES and top of the range for early D2s" is about as much use to the OP as "close your eyes and spin round three times and when you open them just tell the insurance it's an ES".

The operative words are indeed "work it out" best of luck with that 'basic' link.
I'm supprised that D2 owners can't supply a direct answer, but only add a useless 'link'
That link has other links inside which are showing the complete equipment of all specs and with some patience you can fully identify the vehicle's modell... i doubt that any D2 owner no matter how experienced he is can tell EXACTLY what spec is a D2 knowing only that it has leather electric seats and electric mirrors which was the info given by the OP.... or should i have guessed like you did?... cos there are 3 possibilities in this case... provided it wasnt modified at a time o_O

Mine was an educated guess, based on limited info hence the "etc = what". So 3 possibilities, perhaps you would let us know what they are?

The picture below is from the sales brochure of 2000 which is the registration of the OPs vehicle, if you look carefully it shows that the ES is the only model with electric leather seats.

I was driving a new disco in 2000 as a 'courtesy car' when my D1 was in for service as a main dealer, I was also pestered by the Dealers sales people to exchange my disco in for the D2 as it was coming up for 3 years old, and just before it's first MOT test a good time to sell.
They always gave me ES to run around in while they were working on my vehicle.

My disco was serviced up to 2004 by the main dealer and again asked about exchanging my disco for a newer model and givening more test drives and off-road days I decided there's nothing on a D2 that I must have so I've never purchase one.

Because of my interest, I have a stack of sales brochures for all models of the D2 + RRs thanks to the nice LR sales people, so I've no issues with identifying model specification unlike some owners. :)

And so now

back to work:D

@discool

Why did you not just post that to start with? instead of posting narky comments about what someone else had posted? would have probably been of more help to the OP.

Although i still think he should double check his V5.

Cheers

1. The OP said it's W reg which is not 2000
2. According to that parker site i linked there are 3 versions od automatic with leather electric seats and electric mirrors(the only info we've got from the OP): ES, ES Premium and Metropolis

A registration plate with W Prefix is for the year 2000
No such thing as Discovery ES Premium or Metropolis in 2000

Do u have difficulty in seeing the model range for 2000 in the picture in my previous post? As I could try and improve it when I get the time later today.

I wouldn't bothered at all and left it to the knowledgeable D2 owners if there's any... as yourself, as you seem to always to have something to say, and to come up with the goods but all that was provided is links that in my opinion are useless but then I been around disco's a long time 19 years in fact plus 10 with a RR.
