Hi all,

The dashboard top on my car has cracks in it so was going to replace it with a good used one, but this got me thinking; what other used dashboard would drop straight in into its place?

Was wondering if later dash types had different interfaces for fitting or if some later dashes were easier to fit in than others?

Any steers would be gratefully appreciated,

o :)

That would be useful to know, mine is also an '89.

Meantime have you considered just removing the top rail and covering it with some vinyl? There's a thread on here somewhere.

It's just screws and bolts. Not difficult at all and can be stripped out in less than an hour, including brew breaks. TD5 ones will fit but if you want to use the TD5 binnacle and dials then a wee bit of soldering is necessary but does make a remarkable improvement

Oh and if you fit the later top part of the dash you can get ones with wider vents which are better than the older type

i was hoping someone else has already done it and i could check the wireing bit out. and that link says it all ...thanks

Retro is an old Davie lamp hanging from the rear view mirror. Lava lamps are so last last decade
