On my Landy there is a small key operated electrical switch on the driver's side bodywork just next to the filler cap (if I can figure out how to put a picture in a post I'll add one). Any ideas? Cheers. Olly

Pic would help, especially pic of the wires on the back. But at a guess, is it a battery isolator?

Some pics....

Unfortunately the wires go nowhere. I'm buying a new loom (autosparks) and wanted to make them aware of this in case it was something critical. If it's not then I'll just sack it off. Cheers. Olly

If there are no wires, it isn't critical. And it wont be part of the standard loom. Just bin it.

A mate of mine once fitted an alarm to his Golf - it had an external keyswitch like that.
