i have just asked myself the same question i would have always used 10w30 in the diesels but i can get my hands on fully synthetic 5w30 for free in work but the old girl has 264,000 miles up on her, at the moment she is very sweet and does not burn oil do you think i should stick to the thick stuff or try the 5w30 don't want her to run away on the thin oil and blow herself up
I use 10/40 in my 4.0, Valvoline semi and change it every 4000 miles.
