Eightinavee already posted that info Tony.
0w30/0w40 gives a noticable improvement in fuel economy but is too expensive to be viable.

Didn't see that Keith. Have been working outside cladding dormer so only on here now and again. So am not reading all the way through threads. The fully synthetic oil bit is to cover the extended service periods. Once again cheaper oil changed more often would just be as good.

True, but I like belt and braces, full synthetic and frequent changes and there is an MPG benefit:D

At maybe £80.00 + for a frequent change against maybe £25.00 for a frequent change there would have to be a significant fuel saving. :)

Generally costs me less than €40:D Last time I got 7 litres of Shell Helix 5w40 for €28:D:D:D

Basically all moderner cars are 5/30 anything old is 10/40 as a rule of thumb

20/50 is for old cars and when they get a bit knocky a mix of 20/50 and EP80/90 or really knocky 20/50 plus EP140....:jaw:

I have known both to be used admittedly years ago but yes definitely known...
