V8's always sound like they have a missfire to me and the have one too many cylinder heads.:cool:
All V8's or just the P38?

Nowt wrong with a V8:D

all ours purr like kittens and are silent. Well unless you go hooligan mode:D:eek:.

I find the Rover V8 is easier to rebuild than the M51..

And a proper v8 shouldn't sound like it has a misfire ;)

 
My Mighty V8 has managed a whole 15,000 miles without cracking a head or slipping a liner, clearly is going to be ok forever ;)

Mine is on 130k

still pretty good ;)

Plenty of V8s over 180k.

Just have to look after them!! ;)

Almost all V8's have an uneven firing cycle. If V8's are so good, why do most commercial vehicles tractors etc not use them? Could it be that a V8 is more time consuming to work on?
It may be that the Buick lump is easier to work on because it is an ancient design. the Austin 7 engine is easy to work on for the same reason.
The Yanks abandoned the alloy V8 because it was not durable and thin wall iron castings were better.

quite a few modern Aluminium V8's.

Scania V8 ;) diesel very nice.

The Caterpiller V12 twin cam diesel is also very nice, sounds better than a V8 but is a bit big for a car.
