I have had a Ronbox 2a, (the old ones were called Synergy) but sold it and had the engine remapped instead.

I prefer remaps. I personally think they are better.

If you want max power and torque the you want both. Will give you around 165bhp and a lot of torques!!!! Need to inform your insurance company that it is 50+% more than standard. Most insurers do not like that kind of extra power....., not sure if the transmission does either. I decided against it with my auto.

I put oil in the filler on the top of the engine - only at service time mind - don't need any between services - and diesel in the filler on the side of the rear wing - no 'boxes' or 'remaps' or 'blanks' or 'limping' or hitting pumps with hammers and my trusty British engine has never gone below 35mpg and usually gets 37 to 39.

Back home ....... and still luvin it :) 5 or 6 hundred Ks today and still going good!

Mind you, while I was cleaning the screen the petrol station attendant took over filling - so did a click - click - click - click - last drop fill-up which knocked my MPG down to 36! At least it'll go up again on the next fill when I do it to the 2nd click :)

Had my 2.0 td4 auto for 2 weeks now and averaging 24, with a mix of town/A roads/Motorway.

I've got a suspect turbo pipe or possibly solenoid to sort out so that might improve things. Will also be doing the EGR bypass mod.

I'll let you know what happens.

By the way it's a 2004 model with 95K on the clock.

That's a bit low. 27-33mpg seems 'on' for a TD4 F1 auto

Check seized callipers and possibly split turbo hoses..and of course flat tyres.

Or maybe its the exuberant way you drive. I like the auto because I don't race around anymore - just let the car get there when it will.

My later one has the EGR mod and its a little better - like 2% better. Not worth it for the fuss but it came like that.

2002 two door only used on autopista regulary gets 47-53 mpg, 2003 four door mixed motoring urban and N roads 37- 39 mpg both manual.
The two door is a tropicalised version with some odd mods.

Our 2001 Td4 Auto 3door with 127k miles on its back returns 29mpg urban, 35-37mpg mixed urban/motorway and 40/42mpg motorway driving.

Bloody hell ! I'm glad it's not my old V6. I could only manage half that mileage , 150 miles to the tank.

My V6 did 19 Mpg as my daily commute vehicle. If I was in a hurry, single figures were easily possible. The V6 injectors can supply well over a litre of fuel a minute at full power!

I did my second fill-up today, so I have my first data point. Full tank to full tank 491 miles, 59.4 Liters giving 37.2 MPG at 14p per mile which is not far off the advertised 36.7 mpg, and 20% better than my last car! Not bad since for over half the miles the thermostat was stuck at 1/4. I expect the next one to be slightly better.

Surely that is not town driving then ?

Ours must be a good one, according to the brim and run brim, calculates regularly between 38 and 45 mpg we also tow a compass 4 berth caravan and get around 36, quite pleased with that as its a 4x4.
