what mpg would you get out of a 2000 td4 my mum is swaping her vectra what doese 40 to 45 on a 12 mile trip to work every day and wants the same really

bit less for an auto, pulling 28 to 30 round toon, ladders on roof, loaded up with spares and tools, up to 34 on a run without ladders and stuff

I get around 400 to 450 miles from a full tank of diesel which is currently about £5000 pound sworth......

I have a 03 TD4 auto which I suppose is a little thirstier than the manual.
However I reckon around town I am getting 26-30MPG and on the motorway, if I keep it down to around 65mph then I get 37-38, it all depends on how heavy your right foot is!
