I have a 4.6 hse with a 95 litre LPG tank in my spare wheel well but it only fills up with 72 litres!!?? It returns on average 160 miles around town and 200 miles on a long trip

What tanks does anyone else have? Do they fill all the way up and what milage to do you get out of them?

regards
Matt

135L capacity (made up of two linked tanks). The most I've refilled with is 110L and I've squeezed 310 miles out between refills.

I have a 3.9 vogue se a,the kick down cable has seized and I have been informed that a better mpg return if I get it fixed.I have two 40ltr tanks and squeeze 65ltrs in that gives me around 180miles,this works uot at around 13mpg around town.

Out of interest how much is LPG a litre near everyone?
Its 47.9p near me and on my travels to doncaster it was 30p

93 4.2 LSE with a 90ltr tank. From empty I can fit about 65ish litres in it and I am lucky if I get 125/130 miles from it.

Price locally to me varies from £0.37 (Corby) to £0.48 (most local BP)

I am convinced that there is a leak somewhere in my system, but the guy who recently did a load of work on it (850 feckin quids worth) reckons that I am wrong. I can sometimes smell gas even first thing in the morning and definately when I have just stopped. Any one else had this or know how I can test for leaks. I want to be able to go back and say it is leaking and he can then fix it under warranty;)

Hi Guys,

Although I have a 97 DSE Ialso drive an LPG Vectra for my work.
Having done a lot of home work on LPG I can share the following
Due to the way LPG expands and contracts with temperature all systems are set to only fill to a maximum of 75 to 80% of the capacity.
This allows for expansion.

Secondly - the only time you should ever smell the gas is when you disconnect at the forecourtv and the gun hisses out a bit.

If you can smell it - its not where it should be!

Just found this out first hand as with the cold weather my tanked filled up with 90 litres last night!
Thanks for the info ,that makes perfect sense now

I can get about 75L in my 90L tank and I have had 220 miles out of it (3.9 EFI).
I just did a 180 mile trip 100 miles I had a mini digger on the trailer (2T inc the trailer) and I used 73.47L.

Not had it long so I'll be looking at fuel consuption over the next few months.

40p / L round here (North Wales)
