The only experience I have had with dyno runs was with My old Bandit, Bought an official dynojet carb kit fitted it all and tuned it best I could using traditional methods off riding it and changing settings one at a time, pulling plug etc. Time consuming but worth the effort. Took it to a dyno to check the settings they spent a morning did 3 runs and changed the settings (clip heights) twice made no difference to mid range power, infact made the drivability worse undern normal conditions (which I eventually changed back to suit me). Peak power at back wheel was 120BHP which is good for a 16 year old bandit thats supposed to be 98BHP at the crank.

Your dyno chap clarky must have been a good one, Definately easier to plug in and tweek on the run, or upload a map I suppose. I think days of carb tuning are dissapearing now things are injected.

More on topic, The Twin K&N's and Straight through system exhaust and carb tunning to suit on my bandit made no difference to the MPG on a normal week to and from work for me, take it out on a run and do some full throttle action and it drinks the juice. Worth it though.

Right, just did 123miles on gas from full at 70mph (on sat nav) filled (different shell garage) to full again took 35.28 litres 7.76 gallons works out at just over 15 mpg. Average mpg for the journey displayed on the computer was 20mpg. It is definately not psychic!

Plus point managed to get to lizard point and back without breaking down, wow.

I have just broken down, well nearly crashed. I can't believe it. Thank god this didn't happen in Cornwall. Brakes have just failed had to weave through a gap. All lights are now on on the dash. Serves me right for mentioning it hey.
