I used osram ones, poor really.I'll take a photo next time I am out. Spliced the relay into the reversing wire behind the rear cluster. I ised the Halfords off-road LED reversing bulbs - excellent!

It's only the passive immobiliser that you switch off with the Nanocom ie the one that switches on if you don't start within thirty seconds of unlocking with the fob. You can switch off the EKA but this isn't necessarily a good idea https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/p38-alarm-immobiliser-removal.313538/page-2You can turn off EKA on all cars and as far as I'm aware the immobiliser can also be turned off on the V8, see the post by Henry_b above. The Immobiliser is not actually an immobiliser, it's a re-mobiliser, the BECM sends a code to the engine ECU to Re--mobilise it. Turning off the immobiliser in the BECM actually changes the function from being dependent on receipt of a valid FOB code to being automatic so no reason it shouldn't work on all cars.
A hardware mod is not needed but some maybe ignorant of the actual workings of the BECM. Passive refers to the alarm not the immobiliser, I do not turn off the alarm, passive or active. It's only the passive immobiliser that you switch off with the Nanocom ie the one that switches on if you don't start within thirty seconds of unlocking with the fob. Why would a hardware modification to the ECU be necessary to switch off the immobiliser (or the re-mobiliser) if all that is required is to switch off the immobiliser with a Nanocom/Faultmate?
DRL is from the age when dim dip was the obligatory daylight running light.DRL turns the headlights on, not the sides.. you can't change that for some reason
I upgraded everything on my p38!!! Apart from the engine!! It's now a diesesed L322
Never seemed to be anything dim about it, just regular dipped headlight, only dim when the engine wasn't runningDRL is from the age when dim dip was the obligatory daylight running light.
Never tried it so cannot really say what is normal on the P38. Swedish research years ago suggested the DRL's became pointless once the majority of vehicles had them, it was the vehicles without DRL's that were more noticed.Never seemed to be anything dim about it, just regular dipped headlight, only dim when the engine wasn't running
Which goes to prove the 'hi vis' argument is flawedNever tried it so cannot really say what is normal on the P38. Swedish research years ago suggested the DRL's became pointless once the majority of vehicles had them, it was the vehicles without DRL's that were more noticed.
Of course it is, most of this safety stuff is decreed by desk jockeys that have no life experience outside a government office. the reverse bleepers on truck and tractors annoy me, if you cannot hear a truck reversing you shouldn't be let out on your own.Which goes to prove the 'hi vis' argument is flawed
but but what if you're completely blind and just happened to walk behind a reversing truck without assistance? And you're dead so you can't hear the big naughty truck?Of course it is, most of this safety stuff is decreed by desk jockeys that have no life experience outside a government office. the reverse bleepers on truck and tractors annoy me, if you cannot hear a truck reversing you shouldn't be let out on your own.

As I said, if you can't hear the truck you shouldn't be out alone and if you cannot hear a truck, how will you hear the bludy bleeper? what about deaf people?but but what if you're completely blind and just happened to walk behind a reversing truck without assistance? That was my attempt at humour.. reversing beepers for deaf peopleAs I said, if you can't hear the truck you shouldn't be out alone and if you cannot hear a truck, how will you hear the bludy bleeper? what about deaf people?
Good ideaFitted a bilge pump to drain the water from the footwells
Don't get lulled into false sense of security when it gets dark as, you'll have no tail lights.DRL turns the headlights on, not the sides.. you can't change that for some reason

Like every bugger else you mean?Don't get lulled into false sense of security when it gets dark as, you'll have no tail lights.
With my daylight running lights enabled the tail lights are also permanently on.Don't get lulled into false sense of security when it gets dark as, you'll have no tail lights.
A lot of cars I see with DRLs, tail lights are off, thought they were all the same, my mistake. With my daylight running lights enabled the tail lights are also permanently on.
It's only the dash and side light that aren't on.
