Well after buying my Landy I'm slowly sorting all the little bits, one been my winch is wired from my starter with no isolation,

Im going to wire it back to the battery with a kill switch wired inline,

Is it best to take the negative back the battery or just a good earth?

What size cable do I need, it's a 9000lb warn winch with a warn 26626 motor

35mm2 will be good, its always best to return the negative back to battery to minimise voltage loss, but not really that vital on a non comp vehicle

Wire-Gauge Ampacity - Transwiki

Quick look-up table, but its in AWG, should be able to convert to mm2
