Stripping the beast of all its wonder with a head gasket failure (v8 THOR). Now this is the second time this has gone with Britpart ones. What make do you recommend for decent replacements that should last the course of more than 20k.
Im in a tiz over the other bank. Its has full compression of 12bar on all 4 cylinders so should I replace with a decent head gasket as all the top is off or just do the one that's blown.
Can you take the head off leaving the exhaust manifold on the drivers side as its a b----h to get the heat shield off
Many thanks

whatever you d oif you remove the heat sheilds dont refit them just use heat wrap much nicer to look at and saves all the hassle next time you have to do it :D

Do both banks. I only sorted my L/H bank when it blew & 4 weeks later the R/H bank blew.

As said, Payen or Elring are the best.

Thanks chaps. New Elring from Island 4X4 on its way. You cannot get the head off with the manifold on. Tried it and nearly took all the corners off the first head bolt , but lucky I had a 6 sided socket,

NEVER EVER try to undo head bolts with a twelve point socket. Always use a single hex socket. The head bolts are 5/8" AF NOT 16 mm.

looks like il be doing mine soon think my cooling system is pressurrising im loosing coolant from the T connector in the top hose.

no oil or coolant mixing so a sniff test to confirm
