My husband and father in law did some welding in the living room on the laminate floor because it was raining and dark outside and they just 'had to get it done that day.....'
I was at my friends house opposite and was less than impressed, even less so with the burn marks in the middle of the floor. (They were 'protecting' my furniture, apparently)
I was 'unreasonably' upset by this, but we're still married 10yrs on:D

I have got triple air horns and one day when I was in work the alarm started to go off sounding the horn and my misses didn't have a clue how to turn it off lol don't think the neighbours where too happy... Oooppssss :D

mines always dirty or smells funny

results in lots of trips to the polish valeting place... like most times I wanna take her out in it :D

my better half is coming around to land rovers she doesnot like them very much but at least respects that boys must have toys to play with she goes balistic with parts in the dishwasher is getting used to pistons in the oven she dont like oily hand prints on the kettle not a big fan of land rover parts in the sitting room hates tools in the house got a long way to go with her but everyday she tellsme she loves me and that im the only man for her so result warned her when we have kids to be warned she will have the little one telling the big one off for being naughty and it will be driving as soon as it can touch the pedals etc

I couldn't be with someone that wasn't in to cars.
Nicola is perfectly capable of doing all her own maintainence on her cars and we help each other out for fun.
Tool purchases are always seen as joint purchases so no arguments there and there are always some parts or other around the house. Infact we've got a polished enderle bug catcher scoop on permenent display in the living room.

Here she is helping me do a webber carb swap on our V8.

My other half hates my 90, she just don't see the point of it, and why I spend ££££££ on air lockers, tyres and other mods.

She also likes the fact I'm out the house lol

Oh and the disco is ok

My girl likes the Defender as it drags all her horse stuff about and stops me using her German Tourer to go to the tip!

That said she wasn't thrilled when the clothes I sprayed ankor wax in went through the wash and the machine still stunk of white spirit weeks later!

Never really understood the angry reaction - I bought her a replacement machine in shiny black that she'd been coveting :)

I struggle to get in a couple of ours being vertically challenged but most mods are either my idea or pre agreed, gravity dictates I will get out of the car however high, it's just not very lady like

Series engine head on the dining room table followed by spilling break fluid on the dining room table almost ruined things for my relationship (and did ruin the varnish on the table) but... she's still married me :)

There are a lot of cuts, scratches and dents in the flooring of our newly refurbished house we're trying to sell... but... i still bring landy stuff and business stuff into the house

Hopefully this will all change very soon as i'm hopefully taking a lease out on a industrial unit :)

Now for any woman to put up with anyone involved in Landys makes her a special woman. So when I met my mrs (found her in a bar :D) I took her home in a series one soft top in the middle of winter, I didn't expect to see her again. But despite the complaints at the lack of refinements, she married into a family where Land Rovers (and lorries) were dominant.

For the first ten years or so she was used to landy doors, wings, engine bits, axles etc lying about the house. It was about this time I had my series 3 (in bits), she was out for the day and I wanted to spray up some body panels. Too cold outside and the room with the most room was the bedroom. Very carefully I placed newspaper over the bed and floor ready to spray the panels, I thought I did well.

I ran the airline up the stairs, layed the wing sections, doors and assorted bodybits on the bed and on the floor and sprayed the lot. Nice job I thought. Didnt take long to dry so just a case of removing said panels and clearing up the newspaper.

Mrs came home, commented on all the nicely painted panels lined up in the hallway. Then went upstairs

What happened next was not suitable for a gentlemans ears, I never knew so many Land Rover parts began with 'F'. I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about, anyway that night the mrs slept downstairs.

It wasn't til I awoke in the morning that I noticed that everything had a bluey tinge to it, the dressing table, the carpet (apart from the defined shape of series 3 doors), the curtains were blue, the ceiling was blue, even the lampshade was blue, the wardrobe was blue including the clothes in it where the door was slightly open.

All that happened around 30 years ago and she still reminds me about it from time to time. Nowadays its strictly no Landy parts in the house. I did suggest making a double bed out of a S2 chassis a few years later, but I'd seen that look before so dropped the idea.

Anyone else suffered such injustices from the mrs?

Heh, she knew what she was getting.

First time she came home she commented on the GS1000 engine in the bath .. only place that was waterproof to catch the oil. The underfloor heating didn't like it when I originally left it on the floor, it let out all it's magic smoke. Mind, the council, and other occupants of the flats didn't like it either! I didn't see a problem ... I turned the heating off before there were flames.

Then the kawasaki KMX 200 in the front room. I thought as we didn't have carpets, and the front door opened directly into the street that it'd do for a garage ...

The the Series 3 (finally on to Land rovers) which I wanted to get in the garage. I can't understand why she flipped when she saw the dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer and dryer on the driveway. They were all plumbed in and worked Ok 'cos I needed the garage for three weeks.

Then the dishwasher that I used as a parts cleaner. The washer that I (I know, heresy) put my overalls in. Apparently the water pump wasn't happy with the washers and things in the pockets or the amount of grease on the thighs. The overalls came out fine, mind .. ;)

She wasn't right happy when, while she was asking me to take my motocross boots off after laning on the bike, I walked across the front room. They were biological stains at least, I think.

Still with me though ... 24 years married on Oct 1st this year .. coulda been out far sooner for murder .. ;)

buying one, owning one, spending on one, and driving one. take yer pick they all ****ed her off to the point of leaving.

I fitted the roof bars to my roof tent just before the chippy run as I was planning on taking it on the run. I've just had to take the roof tent up to the spare bedroom (it was between the kitchen and the bathroom) cos the missus kept bumping into it.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
