Still Crazy

Just arrived in Landyzone and here´s my first question: What do You think about this?
Yesterday I had to drive a small step up like a boardwalk. Slowed down, second gear, accelerated but the car didn't move for a second like there had been a barrier. Then a loud "Klong", a metallic sound and the car moved. No barrier found. Car drives like ever. No other sounds than the usual.
Now there is the guess that the bolt in the rear diff is broken. What do You think? Is that possible without a strong force an no change in driving?
I have driven only streets and highways until now.
Or am I just a little bit too nervous about that car?
Tanks for Your answers,
