Hello

I got a 90" 300TDI Softtop from 1995. I use it for everyday use and offroad in the weekends.

I'm considering to upgrade my defender with a locker in the rear axle. But i'm not sure what kind of locker would be the best buy.

What would you choose and why?

Air Locker
KAM Locker
Detroit Locker

I'd have the ARB Airlockers, with Ashcroft transmission super strong halfshafts, and the big ARB compressor also fit the ARB diff covers

arb lockers front and rear..ashcroft cvs and halfshafts, and heavy duty drive flanges

How about the Truetrack mechanical LSD? Good price, automatic lock/unlock, sounds ideal for the non-extreme set? Available from Ashcrofts too?

Ive recently fitted a KAM in my rear axle, the simplicity of it is great in how it works, the only down fall is that you have to modify your back axle slightly but its easy if youve got access to a welder,KAM lockers are a lot cheaper than ARB'S and you dont have to buy an air compresser,im running KAM shafts with it and had no problems but have been advised to use ascroft shafts & cv's in the front axle050.jpg
also KAM lockers you can engage while driveing (wouldnt recommend it if flat out though)and and take 0.4 seconds to engage which can be a great help if you suddenly start loseing your momentum
