Running an L322 and a P38 both on LPG is costing us no more in fuel than a mid sized family snore-mobile....

Yes Range Rovers have potential high repair costs, but keep up maintenance and they can be as reliable as the next car!

(Saying that, did notice a pool of coolant under the L322 this morning on the way to work!)
Dream on, put a Modeo petrol on LPG for example or run a diesel version. I wasn't thinking of fuel costs, I was looking at your repair costs on the L322 and you likely have another big bill pending after your HIDeous event and now you have a fuel leak, crazy cost of motoring.

Here's mine.......

Bought in May 2013 driven about 12000 miles

Hell fire there is some scary numbers on here, mine hasn't been to bad by the sounds of things!

In a year I can think of the following:

Air compressor rebuild kit - £30
Wheel brace - £10
Pollen filters -£10?
Puncture repair (actually faulty tyre valve) - £10
Relay - £5
Oil Service and check over - £60
Radiator, exhaust and aux belt aprox £400 - £450 all in cant just remember costs
Oil pressure switch and replacement £100 (I think)
Front crank oil seal - £9
New (to me) Alpine Stereo - £90
Big 130ah Battery - £97 (found a discount code online!)

That's on a 99 4.6 Thor bought with 99k on the clock now on 103k over the last year.

I’d liken the true cost of ownership to the experience of growing old, truth is it’s a bugger, but the alternative is much worse

Repair and failures costs over 3 years:

Water Pump 47.00
Serpentine belt (replaced as matter of course with water pump) 11.00
Arnott Gen II bags all round (1 failed all 4 changed)
Exhaust center box (new item Island 4x4 30.00)
Rear Caliper.
Valve block rebuild kit.
Passenger blower motor 12.00 ebay (20 mins to fit) due to failed capacitor

No MOT failures or advisories to date.

Standard running items
Pollen filters
Air Filter
Gearbox Oil, filter
Engine Oil, Filter
Spark plugs

Excludes accidental damage (like windscreens, so far in the past 3 years have had a total of 8 windscreens over three cars due to stone chips can impact cracks - we have a gravel pit down the road which puts a lot of debris on the road  )

I have a 2000 dse and since buying a couple months ago all its cost is a compressor/valve block rebuild kit (was fine but did as a future precaution ) £37 and a steering damper £21.put in £50-£90 a week in diesel and I use for work every day as great for lugging my kit around.costs me no more than the 5 series sport it has replaced.that will probably all change though when I get a newer one though.lol
