Just under the car cleaning the chassis up ready for an undercoat and I'm just wondering what this rusted piece of junk is? My guess would be it is (was) a fuel tank guard. Either way, it's coming off. Just curious if it's urgent that it be replaced.

I can see it now, its not the best pic but it looks like the metal plate/strap that partly holds your fuel tank in. You might want to consider replacing it!

Found this on eBay LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 1 300 TDI STANDARD FUEL TANK GUARD STRAP WITH FIXING BOLTS | eBay and I'm pretty certain that's what it is/was!
