Whilst washing my d2 today I noticed that the rear panel by the wheel was a bit wobbly. On further investigation it appears the metal sheet that the mud flaps fit to has rusted at the bolts along the top which fix to the chassis. Does anyone know what part this is? And how easy is it to replace? Is it just a case of unbolting and rebolting?

With most things Land Rover usually not as simple as it should be. I had to use pop rivets and a bit of steel with mine on the passenger side.

Cheers I found the right part on yrmit, it was the bigger mud flap bracket I was after

get the complete kit, they are a pain to do, spout bolt to fix back in as they are big bastid rivets that odd em on!, ive done all 4 on mine,

Looking at your photo mine doesn’t have the smaller metal piece, should it?

I fitted a pair of the YRM galvanised mud guards after finding mine in a similar state. They fitted well & no more worrying about them rusting away

which peice as the ones i fitted are full galv, but i rubbed paint brush with underseal on it,

In the photo there is a slotted piece at an angle. I need to replace the larger part that that piece bolts too but I don’t have that piece currently on either side of my rear wheel arches

I have worked out why I can’t see it now, it sits behind the main wheel arch cover!

yeh that pic is from the rear of the mud shield, i bought the complete kit, 2 mud shields, 2 brackets, 2 stainless front ones too!
