Had the right rear door apart due to door handle rattle and found a lot of things inside, the backing piece for the door handle had fallen off - sorted now.
With my last order form Island i bought some of the door card clips there came in very handy, previous idiot had used wood screws:confused:

But there was a big piece of rubber i cannot fit anywhere, Any clues?

Next its the front doors to see why the windows rattles...

It fits inside one of the rear doors. Mud shield for lower rear quarter panel.

It is the rubber that the glass slides in. It fits in to a metal channel inside the door.

Highly likely as it was inside door, maybe open the other door and look, just couldn't place it when i had it open,
didn't take off all the seal though, only top and speaker out to find the bits.

Tried the window and it is held very well in place, no leaks so it will probably stay in the garage until another time.

You should have waited for the additional text. Looks like the mud shield that fits on the curved part of the rear door to seal the rear quarter.

Far to short and different shape... (Yes, patience is gold - sometimes:rolleyes:)

I found the same strip in both of my front doors and tried to trace it on parts explosions/guides but to no avail. Hopefully we can sort it now. The curved one wammers refers to have ends /caps moulded on, while the one in the pic does not have.

yes indeed it's the guide rubber, thanks for info, I managed to slide/poke mine back in. I hope it stays there this time. The window rattles alot without it.

they arent held particularly well in the metal channels, once they have moved a bit downward in the channel, the window glass goes over the top edge when closed so when you then open the window the glass edge just snags the end of the rubber and pushes it even further down. easy enough to push back into place, just dont have fat arms!

Sorted the front door window rattle by greasing up the vertical slide inside the door located about under the handle and fitting new door card clips so the upper rubber touch the glass. Nice - hope it last - really bothered me.
At the same time i saw the rubber there puzzled me is in the front of the door, vertical so it must be the same for the rears.
Got rid of an annoying squeak from the boot area as well, sub woofer screws tightened, sounded like rubbing polystyrene. (Hard to find that one)
