Right so this is my Defender...

1993 200tdi.. Hardtop county.. all original, including the paintwork.

Im in need of some repair paint, exact! as i don't wanna fully repray; theres no need.
So im tryin to find the colour, yes green Obviously! and low and behold the actual colour is not on the vin plate!
So iv called Landrover.. and Low and Behold again, its too bloody old to tell the colour from ther records.
sooo the technition is on the phone..
I said at first, British racing green; but aparently thats metallic, so he says the only one nearest that is Epsom Green, but epsom to me is alot darker than this!.. I also thought Conisten Green; as pics for that colour look exact, but the technition seemed adiment it wouldn't be Conisten..

Anyone got any thoughts, or know what green it is?? Why did they make so many Greens!!!

cheers guys.

even if you do get the exact original colour it'll still not match the colour that your landy is now

aye.. obviously theres gonna be some fadeing, but i atleast want to get the original colour cause its gonna be nearest.. and no the data plate is blank where colour is, apparently they didin't put it on (back then) according to land rover

go to a paint place that does colour matching

yeah thats green. arnt there some paint shops that will mix you up the same colour if you bring a sample in?

Blurry Ell, that piccy is a bit small, can you not blow it up a bit, I'm struggling to see it on my phone :eek::eek::rolleyes::rolleyes:

If that paint is original then someone must have painted the arches. I'm fairly sure they never had painted arches.

The colour is Coniston Green, same as mine, CARPLAN do a 400ml spraycan its called Laurel Green, It is a good match, The code on the can is GREEN-15.
