I'm in the process of fitting a second battery to my 300 tdi Disco 1.
Getting in the way is this odd thingamajig. One of the tubes is connected to the air intake box, one has been capped off with a bit of tape and the final one is connected to a servo pipe.

Can I remove it?

its the vac solenoid to operate egr valve on turbo

You can remove it but clog well the pipe which goes to the servo and tie up the connector to not touch earth

As above, you can remove it if you seal the circuit it controls..... do NOT throw it away - "we" might find that "they" find a way of making it be "fitted" in some future update of the MOT regs - might be a long shot - but better safe than sorry

Thanks gents, the egr valve went ages ago, but I'll add it to my 'might come in useful box'. A virtual beer to you all.
