Hello you lovely but slightly peculiar people.:)
What do you make of this?
My missus's 93 300tdi was stolen, needed similar for her towing. The insurance pay out was Very Helpful. ( tip, wash it, take photos and have some oil change receipts.)
Found a very nice one on a T plate. Yes, 300 tdi on a T 1999. I don't know.
Any way, had the cambelt changed at the place who looked after her old one, they say it's all good, everything is Land Rover. But you know you get an itch you can't scratch sometimes? Well, On this website http://www.disgruntledgoat.com/conte...VINchecker.php
It comes out as a LHD Range rover classic.
Any one have any thoughts on this? The Disco's fine, I'm just confused.
Mind you, That's very easily done. 'Specially at my age.

sounds like a plate rape.
potential problems if build parts cant be traced.
personally i'd take it back for a refund, but then i'd probably have checked the vin prior to purchase.
now go have a poke in the indroduce yourself section.;)

Hi nrgserve.
Thank you for replying.
I know I know nothing, but I think you may be assuming the worst. "PLATE RAPE." Whatever that is,
Well, it sounds a bit excessive to me. Thanks any way. If I find anything illegal going on, well, I'll let you know.

Hey there Bigeeeee.
Thanks for replying. What is Microcat?
All the best.

Its the land rover parts ordering system but contains loads of build info and what was factory fitted to a specific vehicle.
you can download a copy or pm me your chassis number and reg and ill check it for you but not till wednesday morning as im away at the moment

It says our 1996 Discovery is a "Range Rover Classic", and I know ours is not "dodgy", so it may not be any thing to worry about. As it says it may not be accurate.

I found the info will be very brief and not "loads of build info" for the D1, so not worth the trouble. LRs build data base is better for D2s and other models onwards.
