You mean my valet? I realise he can buttle with the best of them, but he is still only a valet.

A butler is in charge of meals and things of that nature. A valet is a manservant who tends to other issues, such as greeting guests to ones household, loading and unloading vehicles, how one should dress and what have you.

I suspect to peasants Freelander owners it is hard for you to know the difference. To new money a butler is also head of ones household, but to those of a higher standing in life, they just make sure the right drinks are served with the right meal. A valet will tend to day to day tasks.
 
The running footman is not a fan of the internal combustion engine and the way it has developed.
