i've done nowt again, second day running... must get the electrics and the hoses done so i can run it up and take it out of the shed to attack it with the pressure washer. probably not get nowt done tomorrow, go to get a windscreen sorted for a citron xantia, that another story all together
 
got 1 side step on yesterday , bought poly bushes today looked at my 90 and put them in back , still got other side step to put on
 
cleaned plugs,checked air filter,checked battery,tightened rocker cover bolts as oil goin everywhere,finally put in new rad,found steering box leaking will fix when I obtain parts....will open bottle of wine:)
 
Stripped, cleaned and unseized handbrake actuators and linkages ........ and to think that i thought it only needed adjusting ..... DOH! :eek: :rolleyes:

Greased propshafts and noticed rear trailing ram bushes are shredded (thought it felt strange driving home from a beasting other the day) :rolleyes:

Ordering polybush kit from Paddocks morrow :D
 
mmmmmmmmm not so much done but orded 2 foley side lockers and a boab water tank, sghould be here friday and it means i am one step closer to going to mongolia!!!

Well if you're experienced at handbrake overhauls you can help me sort mine ;) - a polybush kit is on my shopping list too as I reckon mine could probably do with one :D
 
imho yer better of replacing bushes with OE parts.
polybushes don't last 5 minutes.
 
Had the Deflex ones on mine and never had any probs until now. The big nut holdin' the bottom link to chassis came loose and ah think ah knackered the big bushes. Found out lookin' at various websites anaw that the yellow ones ah put on are for off road use only!!. Ah was going to try and find the single bushes but ah think they only come in the kit. Got meself one of them orange flo-flex kits (direct replacement for OE) to put on this weekend so hopefully these won't be too hard;) :D

The secret is not to over tighten them mate ;)

The shock bushes are the worse for splitting (or so i've heard) but they dont need reaming up like the rubber ones do ...... just gotta take out the play in em ;)

DiscoGirls have been fitted like that for months now and many miles too with no splits to report :D
 
not done owt ta me landy for the last week:eek: (i feel withdrawal simptums cumin on:eek: ) but i did buy some steel wheels off ebay, an went ta fetch em 2day.
they did come with 7.50x16's but all but one was fooked so went to get the tyres took off and now i'm gonna clean up the wheels an spray em up an get some insa dakar's 235,85,16 to put on em:D

then if ya know anyone that wants an avon rangemaster 7.50x16, with 6mm of tread left on it just tell em i got one, its goin back on ebay by the way:rolleyes:

just repainted the rear door in prima, now having some food then back out for a second coat.
