Not done much else unfortunately, plus a bit of fiddling with minor jobs.Nowt wrong wi looking.
after fitting new wiper "cog-wire", wiper units and arms a couple of weeks back the left wiper progressively got worse until it barely twitched with the wipers on. Drivers side was perfect. As my dash is in a permanent state of easy access I could see that the wiper spindle wasn't turning when the gear rotated. Took it apart and it looks like the cog is only press fitted onto the spindle, no keyway or locking. I took a pillar drill to the cog/spindle to create a bit of a keyway and did a very nasty spot weld (ran out of gas last week) to keep the two together. Put it all back and now works a treat, just a shame every single job needs doing twice and fettling.
to my untrained eye I think something's missing....View attachment 195598 View attachment 195600 Thought I'd do the back brakes as there was a loud bang followed by loud squealing
Looks like a great, if long overdue, investment! ENJOY!OK, so the drivers side failed today while coming home in the rain. {breathing deeply}
Had enough of this. Gone and spent a ridiculous amount of money on a replacement https://www.designdevelopmenteng.co...A-Defender-Wiper-Wheel-Box-UPTO-02-p118376865
