Fecking fecking fecking Land Rovers. Started replacing the intermediate pipe on my exhaust today. First of all, the U bolts securing the exhaust were so corroded they sheared whilst undoing. Then the bloody exhaust wouldn't come apart with out using so much force that I fractured a weld on the new downpipe (another quality Britpart item ) Then when removing the downpipe for welding, I sheared 2 of the studs holding the downpipe to the RHS manifold, and the bloody things sheared flush with the manifold, so I have had to drill and re-tap the holes. Hopefully I will have finished the damn thing by this evening.

Had a minor drip drip drip of diesel from the fuel pressure regulator since I got the Disco 2, I bought a new one along with the gasket and the filter O ring a couple of weeks ago. Today I decided to fit it. What was a bit confusing was the FPR had clearly been replaced before as it was of the newer type to the 10P engine I have.

After removing it (and lots of swearing and trying to contort fat fingers) I found out why it was leaking.. there was no gasket fitted at all. I installed the new one with the gasket with lots more swearing and all is now well.

Also gave the whole area below the FPR a good clean with Gunk and a rag as it was all black and gritty with old diesel.

Next job will be solving the exhaust gas leak from the downpipe with a new de-cat pipe, when it arrives.

Done nothing to mine but extracted a broken key from a mates 90's ignition barrel.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

filled mine with about a ton of floor tiles, all my kit,4 tubs of addy,8 lengths of 4x2 csl, then drove 12 miles to the job the 110 handled all that weight as if it was empty, cant fault the landy does anything ,goes anywhere

sealed over the sunroof with duct tape, ready for a summers day job.
......just as well, coz its now chucking it down.

Drove to and from work.jacked me old mans gaylander 2 up and was surprised by the articulation it has. And frustrated at the strange jacking points...

Undo central valance bolts. Put a bar on via two bottom bolts. Fold a bar upwards and valance should bend to suit. Other two bolts in job done

I know it isn't a Landy but my saxo used to fill with water when I bought it. I had to bail it out if it rained, the footwell was about 2 inches deep in water.
After I blew the air line through the sunroof drain pipes and cleared them out, the car is as dry as a nuns chuff in lent:)

Haha
