bit late I know, but yesterday checked oils in gearbox, transferbox & back diff.
(done front diff & swivels the other day)
never greased my nipples as I cant find my greasegun "today"
theres always a tomorrow! - maybe today...?

found a small blow in front exhaust just as it bolts to rear pipe, so cut a half round section from an old exhaust pipe, cleaned up the weld area, clamped half pipe repair on and mig`d it till it looked nice,
then painted it with silver hammerite to make it look better.

then took mrs to morrisons,
spose the paints now burnt off!

Got in the Disco after overnight rain and as soon as we moved off it was like someone turned atwo taps on in the roof.
Wife got drowned in water an the seats are soaked through.
Sun roofs sposed to have been sealed, obviously not:mad:

Moved a concrete block off a Byway so I could get by ... ;)

Blocked Byway - YouTube

Video shows Byway sign and block as you drive up to it .. with a larger concrete block to the left not allowing you to go round it .. so ... see attachments .. ;) Later on came to a level crossing with a welded and padlocked chain .. this will be reported to the local council and to the Railway people ..

So, have a look at the pics and if anyone's in Doncaster or nearby, check the lane out at Bessacarr, see one of the pics for the level crossing details, drive it, and let the council know it's blocked, please!

Normally I would have also abated the welded links, but didn't have much tackle with me ... though thinking about it the strop I used to move the concrete block would have done it!

As I have no back window,i had no need for rear view mirror. So now I have fabricated a pivoting bracket mounted in place of mirror for camcorder. Works great. Took her out for test drive and it's like police camera action lol..

are you sure of its status and that it permissable to drive, as that looks like it has been closed for a long time so hope you havent broken the law ;)

Absolutely. Marked on OS maps, definitive map and RoW officer agrees it's a Byway ..

Never drove it before 'cos it's only very short and not a lot to see/do .. which isn't the point .. ;)

You could have removed that crappy little padlock with a teaspoon ;)

Yeah, if I'd stopped a while I would have, but ****ing it down, people about, extra damage .. didn't really want to as I also had to be home, missus had dinner on! I only drove the lane 'cos I was on the way home and remembered it .. the Byway sign is well out of view from the main road .. ;)

Anyone know where I can get a roof lining for my 110 defender. Roof lining for the back of the Defender not the front. I have bits of carpet there at the moment, some of which are falling off.

Flushed out my intercooler and put that back on, didn't make as much of a difference as I'd have liked, but there is a small difference in low end torque :)
Topped up the engine coolant, power steering fluid and cleaned the engine bay a bit. Changed the fuel spill off lines for silicone one's and put ty-wraps around them because the last seemed to be ****ing out. Finally took off the rear door trim because it's rattling, so going to sort that out in the week and gave it a good clean on the outside :D

welded up my rear drag link. the thing snaped going rond a bend at 30. bit hairy for a min. before someone says there only £30 A. cant get on sat night/sun and B.on inspection factory weld was about 1cm not all roud (wich it now is)

Fitted new bias plate and srings to gearlever (300tdi R380)

Drives a lot better now and not a difficult job:cool::)

Got it recovered... again lol
Front o/s brake disk come loose from the hub. Gotta wait for the hub socket from my brother's or Id have fixed it at the roadside.

Had exactly the same on a byway near me... massive hunk of concrete with rebar sticking out of it had been dumped in the middle of it. Just used front bumper of the 110 to shove it to one side and continued on my merry way :D

Today I welded a patch into the passenger side footwell and gave it a coat of black hammerite... bang on :)

Also, the gearbox had been whining a bit lately so I thought I had better check the oil level for the first time since I've had it (three years now).

So took out the filler plug to check the oil level... nothing. Couldn't feel anything inside with my fingers. So decided to drain it... a total of 300ml of black, gungy, stinking fluid came out

Refilled with 2.5l of fresh ATF and the difference is immense... smooth changes, doesn't crunch into reverse any more and no more whining. Double bang on :)
