Yep.......even tried running back to battery -ve, couldn't even get it down to 3  was about to start cutting the whip till I lifted it

Did you have it on the bonnet before? Or on spare wheel carrier or somewhere?

If the whip is too close to any large lumps of metal (i.e. windscreen pillars or tailgate etc) it'll give you a poor SWR and even poorer range. Best place is either on top of a bullbar or front of the wing/bonnet, or on the roof as you found out :D

Finally got round to making a proper mount for the netbook in the 90.
See pics
bought piece of ali off ebay. bent it and notched it out for on /off switch, made bracket to bolt on cubby box, welded tube on to that, welded a plate on to a smaller tube and bolted to ali, stuck velcro to ali to hold netbook.small tube slide's in larger tube for easy removal and also can swivel so driver or passenger can navigate. 3 hours and about a tenner well spent.

Had it mounted on the back above the no. plate......others reckon twoud be all right there.......no :doh:

Now tis on a 90' bracket on the flat panel at the back of the roof......bit stupidly high but thought twoud be a bit vulnerable on the wing

I took a holesaw to the rear bodywork in preparation for a full stainless side exit going on tomorrow.

I didn't half get some odd looks from neighbours and passers by!

just started to sort out a little rust problem on the disco, should keep me out of mischief for an hour or two.. oh the joys of landrover ownership:D

Penelope didn't want to start this morning and darling daughter wouldn't open the door cause it was 'all icky and covered in goo'
General de-chalking under the bonnet and re-fitting a torn off earth strap sorted the starting and a plastic bag protected daughters nice shoes from the puddle in the footwell :D

Climbed over it today to look for some plumbing things. Almost bought red zinc primer for the chassis yesterday but the shop was closed.

With the fresher 200tdi in my Defender, took it for its first drive, found out that it felt VERY gutless, after a while of feeling sorry for all the hard work, I noticed that I hadn't adjusted the throttle cable, so when I had my foot to the floor it was around 1/2 throttle :D adjusted it properly and it now goes like **** off a shovel, new silicone hoses on tomorrow, and after a few miles I'm gonna play with the fuel pump :biggrin1:

had another day sorting out the small bit of rust on the disco, trouble is that bit of flakey rust just keeps getting BIGGER!!just begining to wonder what holds them together. still love it though.
