then swopped wheels front to back and back to front to even the wear a bit..

checked the brake pads... need new ones on rear for mot next month.. (new experiance)

and also need to weld rear cross member as body mounts have gone through.. (new experiance)

and front swivel ball seal has gone and is leaking like a stuck pig... (new experiance)

and found a hole in mi chassis where the offside rear outrigger attaches.. and chassis splittin down from the hole, underneath and runnin down next to the weld line on the underside of the chassis...

yesterday got all the silicone sealant out of the ribs on the ifor williams pig hut on the 110 ready for me mate to spray paint it for me while i'm on me hols next week .
today "aquired " a brand spanking new 1 of these :D

xyz006.jpg

did'nt ask where it came from

Finally bit the bullet and pulled out the 19j to make room for the 200 tdi disco lump and swapped the flywheel housings over ready for tomorrow, found a hole in my dumb iron on pas side so got to plate it up anorl while i'm lowering the rad mounts in the morning, off to the pub in a bit for half time beer.:)

Two things today ( although technically I didn't do one of the things the garage did )- have had some checker plate fitted to the wings and sills.

and the one job I did myself- highly technical and very complex skills required--

I used duct tape to stick the back of my bench seat cushions back together ( couldn't work out how the clip went to keep it in place so just stuck it together )- have to say the grey duct tape co-ordinates nicely with the grey trim though and doesn't half look bad :)

Bought a manifold gasket for the 200tdi finally and a thermostat housing gasket so as I can point the pipe the other way to fit the 300 tdi radiator:cool:

goin to have a go tomorrow.:)

had a tyre done changed drivers side stop/side lamp holder removed the folding side steps that due to rust and being bent no longer folded or functioned properly as steps and fabricated a mount to put the iPad on the dash for big screen navigation used 2 quick fist clamps (bought to hang climbing ropes in the store but had a rethink as there not easy to do up with one hand) fitted with 3 bolts to a rectangle of steal (reclaimed from the base of an old OHP) covered in gaffer tape (wanted to be quick and its a temp solution) then screwed in to dash plan is to get a mud console at some point so if the quick fists work up till then i will transfer them and use the plate to strengthen behind the console not driven with it yet so will see how bouncy it is

good use of a day off work

fitted 200tdi lump into the hole left by the 19j,took all day just to get the bloody thing in,lost count of how many times it's been out today finally found an old post from Redhand about using threaded bar in studs as a guide and eventually got it in so cheers redhand good tip, just got to plumb it in now and make exhaust up, i think it's the last time i try to fit a lump on my own though it's been a right pain to do.i hope it's going to be worth it.

Today I replaced the rear mudflap brackets which were rotten and the snapped fuel tank strap. Ended up having to reweld the chassis bracket for the strap as it came off in my hand!

Yesterday I replaced the front window seals in the door frames and front mudflap brackets.

It's been a busy couple of days!

Took it gor the MOT yesterday. failed :( due to ABS light not going out properly, spent the rest of the day trying to fix it and couldnt, garage today to have a 2nd hand Pump fitted. luckily that was all it failed on, so re test on monday!
