Put 15 litres of Tesco veg oil in it, very satisfying :)

Might be my imagination but it does seem to run smoother on it. Also noticed the smell when I got out after parking up :D

jetwashed all front suspension, steering, chassis..

was gonna start slappin some paint on it but its started pi**ing it down!

Had my first breakdown in my p38. Lack of go go juice. That will tesck me for not being bothered to drive to filling station

replaced the ignition switch and barrel and washed off 12 pints of rotten milk thrown at it last night by kids trying to pelt the riot van parked next to it ,little bastards.it looked like an elephant had dry humped me landy for an hour.

I changed the radiator, what a pig of a job that was , and topped up the gear box oil, a bit fiddly, but not too bad once you get the knack of it :D

What have I done to my Landy today?

  • I measured up for some lockable boxes for the load area (I'll probably go for a BareBox) and given further thought to fitting CP to the rear door to conceal the bubbling, helped by forum members hereabout.
  • I fitted a new acoustic pad to the engine and ordered some underbonnet soundproofing from eDead.
  • I fitted a reversing camera and monitor so I don't reverse over next door's cat again  (only £28 from Chinavasion and worth every penny).
  • Finally, I gazed lovingly at it for an hour or two then thrashed the nuts of it growling around the local lanes - a great way to work up an appetite.

didnt kno chinavasion sold cats?

and 28 quid for a moggy is a bit steep...

LOL, but the dearer ones make more noise when you crush 'em, thus giving better warning. Or did you think CP meant chequered plate and NOT Cat Protector?

removed the floor from the drivers side, removed the door from the drivers side , removed the wing mirror

discovered id bought 125mm cutting disks instead of 115mms .......

shut her down - door on and called it a day at that end.

rebuilt front prop shaft.

now its pishing rain - talledega nights and a cider !

Put in some sticky-back sound proofing in the front footwells under the carpet and in the middle row. Noticeably quieter now :) When my Toolstation thick rubber matting arrives it will be the quietest Landy in the south east :D

As a side note, the Tdi is running very sweetly on veg oil - and it smells lovely! Noticed the smell almost straight away.

Langers, any links to which soundproofing you got?

Gear selector rattled loose again, so took the selector assy off and glued that bloody grub screw in.. Can do it in half an hour now!
