Started sorting the new engine out
Admited defeat in my quest to have it on the road by tommorow morning
I then pushed it up the driveway... Which is a slope... That 110 is ****ing heavy!

Started to take the V8 out of my 110.
Took both props off and the top hose.
I'll have another go tomorrow:D

Run spotlight wires upto a on off on switch then half fitted the new overhead console

Wire brushed all the exhaust bolts and then soaked em in WD40. Then I rolled over onto some nettles under the nearside and called it a day. the engine should be out by christmas at this rate:rolleyes:
Get some more done on Monday..

Checked all the oils on me bus (only needed a slight top up in rear diff) as ah'm feckin' off fur the weekend in it;):D

Repeatedly listening to my starter solonoid on mu SIII daily driver going 'click'. At the moment on average it takes about 15 attempts before it will work - ****in thing - no time to fix it at the moment either.

200Tdi one it is, gonna be a bastard to get the starter off. A fair bit of the exhaust system will have to be removed to gain access. I'm going to see if just a strip down and clean up will do the job first, but thanks for the offer:)

made a start on altering the rollcage i got from fleabay to fit the old bus (internal cage off a series lightweight) needed to be widened by 7" and raised by 4" managed to get it all sorted and welded up just have the chassis legs to fabricate and weld to chassis

Nothing today but fitted a 12v solar panel yesterday with a regulator. Not sure how well it will top up the aux battery but on special at Maplins at the mo at £39 (was about £70)

Today I have mostly been on my back with a wire wheel/drill, scraper and flatnose screwdriver scraping about half a ton of mud off in preperation for some Shutz tomorrow.
I have also drilled out my new sills for my rocksliders, Shutz'd my sills, front inner wing panels and inside both front wings, also fitted my Safari Snorkel to my wing.

Costs today were £20 for 2 Coveralls, 2 dustmasks, 2 pairs of goggles, 3 exhaust rubbers, a exhaust clamp and 2 wire wheels.
Also spent £100 on a Kenwood screen to run all my stereo gear ;)

Took tunnel out and gearlever off, disconnected speedo cable and handbrake, removed cubby box and part of the seatbox beneath it and took gearbox crossmember out.
That's enough for today, just exhaust to chop off then we are ready to lift the engine and boxes out of the 110. bye bye V8 :(
