After being laid up for over 3 months(me as well),fired up the old girl and took her out for a run .It was a pleasure to drive .

Took out engine replaced backsealand tightened flywheel put it back in and fixed the leak from the p gasket at the front. Only the exhaust and bumper to put on tomorrow.

Attemped to make the Series Landie slightly more waterproof - I think I may have achived something! Poked the tail light bulb a bit and now it seems to work.

what you do, dip it in liquid rubber?? I tried weather proofing my 88 hardtop with god knows how much mastic and still failed miserably lol:D

Well, it started the other week where I went about sealing the windscreen (was literally pouring in through the seals around the glass. Sorted that, broke a glass panel in the process but hey ho, got that sealed up well in the end.

So the other night when it was ****ing it down I sat in the Land Rover trying to identify where the other leaks were coming in. Neighbours probably think I am a right weirdo sitting in my Series landie in the rain, in the dark, but there you go! Bulkhead to windscreen seal is shot...really don't fancy taking the roof off etc to replace that so sealed it up with silicon today (or yesterday as it is now!). Also coming in where the screen meets the roof - it was a bit bent so corected that and sealed up.

Had quite a lot of rain today and only a few drops inside the cabin from different areas - so yay for that! Won't last of course and it will sprout more leaks shortly but hey, it's worth a go!

started to look at MOT failure bits....

dont think thats too bad - maybe a bit fiddly - thats all.

Finally sorted the Landy out today, swapped the rear drive flange and propshaft and sorted the starter motor out. A simple job that turned into an absolute bitch of a job and big thanks to DV for helping me sort it.

Disco 300 Tdi ... Tried to do the front prp today after it fell off, well, rear UJ and sliding part, on M62 ...

Sourced a second-hand one to replace and tried to look at it today. Pics (taken after I'd removed the 'good' flange nuts) show damage from prop flailing arond at 65+ ..., pretty minor I thought really, though the footwell is a tad dented and is slightly holed at the crease! UJ appears to have lost it's grease nipple, as has the prop outer, which I think let water in which (obviously) did the damage.

Anyway, front prop I got from a friend is also nackered .. tried to make one decent one out of four, but no luck!! .. so have ordered a new one for now .. cheapy Paddocks as we're poor, but I'm going to drive the Disco in Diff-Lock with just the rear prop on so in 2wd only ...
