tried to put me dog guard in but dont think it fits.Too hot to try again so gonna bath the dog cos he smells of fox wee after chaseing one round the garden last night

Did a tiny bit of painting both last night at around midnight, and again this morning when the first coat had dried were I drilled the hole for the boost gauge the other day.

Will seal the hole with silicone sealent tomorrow and the day after cover with underseal. Also spray underseal over the area I painted the other day were the prop caught the chassis when it snapped.

Other jobs for the coming week include changing my front indicator bulb holders as intermitantly they aren't working.

well got back from hols in yorkshire yesterday and spent today spraying up seat box and prepping rear tub all ready for refitting soon also painted windscreen frame

Not a lot really except drive it, pick up a couple of bits and pieces for the other one, take two pups to their new owner and mount a bonnet mascot...

cleaned out the egr, fixed the broken windscreen washer pipe, disconnected the actuator hose for the egr.

dunt look as cute as what you did today buster though

just cleaning it for now, but now I have seen it with my own eyes, I'll be getting a bypass in the not too distant.

Hard to tell exactly how much better it runs now I've cleaned it, but it seems better. I'd estimate it was at least a 50% restriction in the flow, what with the valve inards and so on. valve was jammed solid. seemed odd to free it up only to blank off the actuator, but such is the land rover way.

I overheated it :(

A quick early morning blast 250 miles up to Scotland, leaving the meeting at 14:30 this afternoon meant thrasing the pants off it on the way back home.

Just at the Glossop end of the M67 the temp gauge shot from normal to the red.

I let it cool down on the hard shoulder for 30 minutes, before limping 1/2 mile up the road to a petrol station.

Cue lots of spraying of water to cool the block down even more, (I have never known the inlet manifold get so hot). No loss of coolent, no sign of any leaks, and my fans still blow air that is pretty hot, (but not quite as hot as it was before).

Will replace the expansion tank cap, (it uses one of those VW blue ones), and my air filter aint in the best nik, so will order another one of those too.

Weird thing is that it behaved itself the final 30 miles back home. Perhaps sitting at 4000rpm none stop for nearly 3 hours on such a hot day isn't such a good idea?

cleaned the leather seats, blacked up the exterior trim, took it for its first drive in 11 months and it still drives bloody great.:D:D:D

Hubby hitched up his mothers caravan and blew up the flasher relay:doh: cue lots of swearing and frantic phonecalls to orphanage, who were no help as richard isn't in today:mad: so Pig is sat abandoned at farm until later when there will be fewer of the other pigs on the road;)
